- By MasterSlowPoke

Knowing how to add files is the basis of Warcraft III Modding. This tutorial will tell you how to do this with the various programs.
Just click on the name of the program you wish to use.

Find which suits you best then click the link to the side.
I have the Frozen Throne version of Warcraft - TFT Import Manager
I have the regular Warcraft game - TechMPQ or WinMPQ

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

TechMPQ - By Technetium

1.Open TechMPQ. Press the Add/Replace File Button.

2.In the first box, type the file name of the file you are adding, or click the browse button and navigate to it.

3.In the second box, type the file name of the map or mpq you are adding the file to, or click the browse button and navigate to it.

4. In the third box, type the path that you want to added file to have. If you are replacing as skin or model, this would be the same path that you extracted it from, like Textures\HeroDemonHunter.blp or Units\Orc\Peon\Peon.blp.
Click the "MPQ It!" button to add the file to the specified path.
Repeat until all your files are added.

Frozen Throne World Editor Import Manager - By Blizzard

1.Open World Editor. Press open and navigate to your map. Press the Import Manager button.

2. Press the Import File button; navigate to your file and double click on it.

3.Right click on the file in the impoet manager, and choose Modify File Properties.

4.Click the check box that says Use Custom Path. In the box above, type in the full path of the file you wish to add. For example, if you were importing a Headhunter skin, you would type "Textures\Headhunter.blp" If you were doing a Jaina model, it would be "Units\Human\Jaina\Jaina.mdx". Without the quotes, of course.

5.Click the "Ok" button to save the path.

6.Repeat until all your files are added.

Note: When you first import your files, World Editor will not be able to read them, and the units may have their old skins or a checkered box. In order to remedy this, you can either close World Editor and then open it again, or put the files in local directories in the Warcraft III folder (i.e. C:\...\Warcraft III\Units\Orc\HeroPeon\HeroPeon.mdx).
